TANGER MED FOUNDATION: CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL RURAL WOMEN’S DAY

To mark International Rural Women’s Day, celebrated every October 15, the delegation from the Tangier Cooperation Development Office, in partnership with Tanger Med Foundation, organized a meeting at the Khmiss Anjra Women’s Skills Development Center.

Under the theme “Cooperatives: the Gateway to Economic Empowerment for Rural Women,” this initiative aimed to highlight the role of cooperatives in local development and raise awareness of the opportunities they offer rural women.

Essential levers for economic empowerment, cooperatives help to create jobs, ensure financial independence, and strengthen women’s social and professional status.

Tanger Med Foundation has been supporting women’s cooperatives for several years through programs such as “Lalla Moutawina”, the organization of solidarity markets and strategic partnerships. It offers expertise, financial, and technical support, as well as appropriate training, contributing to the sustainability of cooperatives and the development of the social economy in the province of Fahs Anjra.
