PARTICIPATION IN THE WORLD FREE ZONE CONFERENCE

The Africa Economic Zones Organization (AEZO), as the regional office of the World Free Zones Organization (World FZO), actively participated in the World Free Zone Conference, which took place from September 23 to 25, 2024 at the Madinat Jumeirah Conference Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

This year’s theme is “Changing Global Economic Zones and Structures: Unlocking new investment opportunities,” brought together free zone delegations, policy makers, business leaders, and investors from over 100 countries. This event provided a platform for exploring new opportunities for economic growth and international cooperation.

Experts and high-level representatives of African Special Economic Zones and investment promotion agencies met to exchange ideas on the future of free trade zones. Their participation highlighted the crucial role of free trade zones in promoting trade, accelerating the digital economy, and developing cross-border partnerships for sustainable growth.

This conference made it possible to strengthen the links between actors in the sector and to pave the way for future fruitful collaborations, thus contributing to the development of Economic Zones in Africa and beyond.
