THE DALIA WATER SPORTS ASSOCIATION, SUPPORTED BY TANGER MED FOUNDATION, ORGANIZED THE FIRST EVER REGATTA AT DALIA BEACH

Under the aegis of the Royal Moroccan Sailing Federation (FRMV) and in collaboration with the
Tanger Med Foundation, the Dalia Association of Water Sports organized from 9 to 11 September, 2022
its first ever regatta at Dalia Beach, located in the vicinity of Tanger Port Complex. This nautical event in the optimist- mixed and ILCA 6 series represented for the sailors a new sporting experience in a body of water that they were trying for the first time. Thus, the competition has seen the participation of the majority of clubs affiliated and more than 70 articipants.

The regatta was governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS 2021-2024) as well as the provisions of the optimist class and ILCA. As for the age limit, it was set at 16 years-old for the optimist series.

The Dalia Association for Water Sports manages the Dalia Sailing School, a project supported by Tanger
Med Foundation. Its objective is to provide access to water sports and to promote the development of rural children in the region through regular introductory sailing courses.
