TANGER MED GROUP, OFFICIAL PARTNER OF THE 5TH EDITION OF THE AFRICAN PORTS FORUM

From May 28th to 30th, the city of Cotonou, Benin, hosted the 5th edition of the Africa Ports Forum, the must-attend event for pan-African port and maritime players. A number of Tanger Med Group entities took part, including TMPA, Marsa Maroc, Tanger Med Engineering, and Cires Technologies. Tanger Med Group distinguished itself as an official partner of the event, reaffirming its commitment to the development and modernization of African ports.

During the inaugural debate, Mr. Hassan Abkari, Managing Director of Tanger Med Port Authority, shared his expertise on the theme of “Strengthening appeal and improving performance: Focus on the challenges facing African ports”. His speech highlighted the strategies needed to improve the competitiveness of the continent’s ports.

Mr. Taoufik El Ouahabi, Director of Asset Management and International Development at Tanger Med Engineering, led the “Innovation Talks 1” session, highlighting technological advances and port innovations.

Mr. Mohamed Touzani, Technologies Director at Cires Technologies, Tanger Med Group, took part in a panel discussion on the theme of “African ports in the wake of the digital ‘Big Bang'”. His talk focused on the impact of digital technologies on the transformation of port infrastructures and their crucial role in the evolution of the sector.

Mr. Réda Mokhli, Director of Development and Strategy at Marsa Maroc, also took part in the panel discussion on “Development, expansion, and modernization of African ports: a ‘New Deal’ for reinvented ports”.

The partnership between Tanger Med and the Africa Ports Forum illustrates the Group’s commitment to supporting innovation and growth in African ports, thus contributing to their sustainable development and integration into the global economy.
