On November 17, the town of M’diq hosted the 34th edition of the “Al Massira Cup” regatta, a national sailing competition organized to mark the 49th anniversary of the Green March.

Organized by the Royal Yacht Club of M’diq (RYCM) under the aegis of the Moroccan Royal Sailing Federation (FRMV), the event brought together more than 100 sailors from eight national clubs.

The Dalia Nautical Sports Association (ADSN) also took part in the competition, via its Dalia Sailing School, represented by six boys and two girls in the Optimist category, as well as one competitor in the ILCA 4 category.

Dalia Sailing School delivered a remarkable performance: Wiame took first place in the girls’ category, Samy came first in the youth category, and Yassine took second place overall.

The competition took place over two days, with light winds, allowing participants to compete in five heats.

It is also worth noting that last December in Argentina, Morocco presented its bid to host the Optimist World Championship in 2026.
