TANGER MED, CO-LEADER OF A GLOBAL INITIATIVE FOR PORT DATA EXCHANGE

Digitalization

As part of its strategy for international collaboration and port operations improvement, Tanger Med has established a Port-to-Port (P2P) data exchange with the Port of Rotterdam, enabling real-time exchange of key port call timestamps, such as ETAs and ETDs. This initiative enhances the efficiency of ports and terminals through better coordination and information transparency.

This program aligns with Strategic Direction No. 5 of the 2024–2029 Strategic Plan adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which promotes secure, universally accepted, and verifiable data exchange across the maritime ecosystem.

Tanger Med actively contributes to:

  • Testing advanced use cases with terminal operators and port authorities to optimize operational efficiency and assess ecosystem impact
  • Improving the quality, availability, and security of data exchanged between ports and ships
  • Participating in the adoption and harmonization of data according to international standards
