A branch of contemporary art, Land Art combines a natural setting with materials such as wood, soil, stone, sand, water, and rocks. Carried out by the “Zanka90 pour la Culture” association in the Boujmil douar, this artistic concept has been playing a role for several years in the attractiveness and enhancement of this isolated area in the M’diq-Fnideq prefecture. Through artistic creations and open-air exhibitions by Moroccan and foreign artists, Land Art helps to promote the development of tourism in this region, to the benefit of the local population.

As part of the 8th edition of FLATTA (Festival Land Art Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma), organized on the emblematic site of Boujmil, Tanger Med Foundation supported an educational workshop introducing visitors to Land Art. The aim of the workshop, which brought together some thirty students from the Boujmil douar elementary school, was to raise awareness among the younger generation of the principles of rural and solidarity tourism. This initiative aims to raise awareness of the importance of art in enhancing local heritage, and to encourage young people’s involvement in the development of their region.
