PORT OF DAKHLA: UNLOADING OF A HEAVY PARCEL

On April 25th, 2024, the Multipurpose Terminal at the Port of Dakhla welcomed the unloading of an exceptionally heavy parcel from the Port of Saint-Nazaire. This parcel, an automated kite sail system called Seawing, is intended for sail propulsion on commercial vessels and aims to reduce carbon emissions in shipping thanks to sustainable technologies. Owned by the French company Airseas, a subsidiary of the Japanese Group K Line, this system will be installed on a windy R&D site in Dakhla (Route Aargoub) to test the sails.
