PARTICIPATION IN THE ANNUAL MEETINGS OF THE WORLD BANK AND THE IMF

Tanger Med Group took part in the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), held in Marrakech from October 9 to 15, 2023. This week-long global gathering brought together world leaders, financial experts, and decision-makers to discuss key economic issues.

The Group took an active part in this global event, contributing to the Knowledge Café entitled “Unlocking the Secrets of Tanger Med, a Leader in Port Logistics”. On this panel, Tanger Med shared its innovative strategies, practices, and technologies that make the port complex a leader in port logistics.

The panel was an opportunity to highlight the initiatives that have positioned the port as the 4th best container port in the world in 2022, according to rankings established by the World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence.

The Group also took part in the panel “Green Infrastructure: Stimulating Financing, PPPs, and Innovations for Greater Impact”, during which discussions focused on the dual challenge facing infrastructure investment: stimulating economic growth while minimizing environmental impact. The group shared its experience in finding innovative solutions to these challenges, emphasizing the need to strike a balance between economic development and environmental sustainability.

Tanger Med’s active participation in this panel helped to enrich the debates and demonstrate the Group’s commitment to sustainable and innovative practices.
