PARTICIPATION IN THE 9TH EDITION OF THE X-MOROCCO SYMPOSIUM

Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, the 9th edition of the X-Maroc Symposium was held on December 17, 2024 in Casablanca, with the theme “Morocco’s energy future, challenges, and opportunities.” The event brought together experts, government officials, and key industry players to discuss the strategies and innovations needed to meet tomorrow’s energy challenges and capitalize on economic and industrial opportunities.

The plenary session featured a speech by Mr. Jamal Eddine M’Hamdi, Chairman of X-Maroc Group, who highlighted the major advances made in the energy transition, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him.

Ms. Leila Benali, Minister for Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, made a strong appeal for greater mobilization to support this radical change in operating mode, with the goal of reinforcing Morocco’s investment appeal in this strategic sector.

In the second panel, entitled “Economic growth and energy transition”, Mr. Mehdi Tazi Riffi, CEO of Tanger Med Group, discussed the challenges and opportunities facing energy-consuming companies, while highlighting the specific constraints faced by Moroccan exporters within this context of energy transition.

The closing session was marked by a speech by Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Commerce, who reaffirmed the importance of energy in Morocco’s industrial development.

Organized by X-Maroc Group (Polytechnic School Alumni Association), the symposium was attended by approximately 300 participants, including alumni, government officials, and Moroccan and international experts from the energy sector. The purpose of this  event is to contribute to the national debate on energy sovereignty and suggest concrete solutions for a sustainable energy future.
