PARTICIPATION IN THE 4TH EDITION OF THE ASFIM CONFERENCE

On November 13, 2024, the Moroccan Investment Management Companies’ Association (ASFIM) organized a conference on the theme “Channeling National Savings to Stimulate Growth”, bringing together the major players in the Moroccan financial sector at the Hyatt Regency Casablanca. This event provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities of channeling national savings to support the country’s economic growth.

Among those present were Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance, Nezha Hayat, President of the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC), Brahim Touimi Benjelloun, President of the Casablanca Stock Exchange, and Réda Hilali, President of ASFIM. These leading figures shared their perspectives on the need for better management of domestic financial flows in order to boost productive investment.

The event was structured around three major panels: the first addressed the role of domestic savings in the Moroccan economy, the second focused on innovation in collective investment management, while the third explored the development prospects for asset management in Morocco.

During this last panel, Ms. Loubna GHALEB, Tanger Med’s Strategy Director, contributed her expertise regarding asset management development, stressing the importance of structuring financial mechanisms tailored to the needs of the Moroccan market and local investors.

Discussions at the conference highlighted the importance of strengthening the mobilization of national savings, while innovating management tools and structures to promote sustainable investment and contribute to Morocco’s long-term growth.
