ORGANIZATION OF THE 2025 ANNUAL FORUM OF THE MEDPORTS ASSOCIATION IN TANGIER

On May 29 and 30, 2025, Tanger Med Port Authority (TMPA) hosted the MEDPorts Association Annual Forum at Tanger Med Port Center, organized under the theme: “Waves of Change: Building Sustainable and Resilient Mediterranean Ports.”

This event brought together leaders from many Mediterranean ports such as Algeciras, Barcelona, Valencia, Malta, Venice, Beirut, Marseille, Malaga, Rome, and others, providing a strategic platform for discussion on the major challenges facing the regional port sector.

The first day was devoted to the Association’s General Assembly, followed by a tour of Tanger Med Port Complex facilities. Participants explored current development projects and initiatives in digitization and sustainability.

The second day featured a forum rich with presentations and discussions. Opening speeches were delivered by Mr. Mehdi TAZI RIFFI, CEO of Tanger Med Group, and Mr. Pino MUSOLINO, President of MEDPorts Association.

Key topics included the impact of geopolitical crises on supply chains, port security and competitiveness, opportunities in artificial intelligence and automation, the development of multimodality, and the promotion of diversity and women’s representation in port governance.

As a leader in the Mediterranean, Tanger Med reaffirms its commitment to dialogue, experience sharing, and cooperation between ports. By convening stakeholders around shared challenges, it strengthens its role as a unifying hub within the Mediterranean network, driving innovation and collective progress.
