MAXWILL EXPANSION PROJECT

With more than 20 years’ experience in China, furniture manufacturing giant James & Chris (J&C) has opened a facility in Morocco under the MAXWILL banner, with an ecosystem that favors exports to Europe and the US.

Established in the Tanger Free Zone (TFZ) since 2022 with a 7,000 m2 factory, MAXWILL specializes in the manufacture of furniture and decorative items, in particular tables and chairs.

The expansion project for the second plant, with a surface area measuring over 6,000 m2, began in January 2023. It represents an investment of 28,000,000 MAD and will create 200 new job opportunities.

A third extension is scheduled for January 2024 in Tanger Automotive City zone (TAC). The company plans to launch a 14,000 m2 factory there, dedicated to manufacturing sofas for the British market. The investment is estimated at 30,000,000 MAD.

The fourth plant will cover an area of 20,000 m2 in the Tanger Tech zone and will feature a fully automated production line dedicated to polyurethane foam, the,material used in mattress manufacture.  The company expects to recruit 3,000 people by 2030 in its various subsidiaries.
