INAUGURATION OF MP INDUSTRY IN TANGER AUTOMOTIVE CITY

On November 22, 2024, MP Industry Group, a subsidiary of MEN Industry Group specializing in the manufacture of plastic components for the automotive industry in Romania, inaugurated its first plant in Tanger Automotive City, within Tanger Med’s Industrial Platform.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Commerce, in the presence of Mr. Ahmed Bennis, Managing Director of Tanger Med Zones, Mr. Jean Drugescu, Chairman and CEO of Metaplast and MP Industry Group, Mr. Dan Iacoban, Managing Director of MP Industry Group Morocco, and other senior Moroccan officials.

Covering an area of 35,000 m², this project involves the construction of a plant specializing in the manufacture of plastic parts using granulate injection technology in steel molds, for an investment of 437.623 million MAD and the creation of 150 direct jobs.

On this occasion, Mr. Mezzour welcomed the inauguration, which is of strategic importance for the development of the national automotive industry. “This project, developed as part of the Renault ecosystem, demonstrates once again the attractiveness of our industrial platform. The arrival of the MP Industry group in Morocco will play an active part in the deployment of the vision outlined for the sector: that of expanding local value chains and increasing our production base. This plant, which is equipped with cutting-edge technology, will help consolidate our competitive position by promoting the local production of automotive parts.” “We reiterate our unwavering support for MP Industry Group to further strengthen their presence in Morocco,” he adds.

Mr. Ahmed Bennis, Managing Director of Tanger Med Zones said: “We are particularly delighted with this partnership with MP Industry and the Romanian investors. In line with its vision and the major importance of sustainability in the sector, the group has taken care to equip its plant with photovoltaic panel systems, but also with several shredding and recycling lines for plastic waste.
