INAUGURATION OF IKEA CABO, 2ND IKEA LARGEST STORE IN MOROCCO

fter Zenata in Casablanca, IKEA sets its sights on the northern region. In February, the international brand andleader in home furnishing and decoration solutions, officially inaugurated its second superstore in Morocco,IKEA Cabo, in the commercial zone developed by Tanger Med Zones, located on the road between Tétouan and Mdiq, near Cabo Negro.

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Mr. Marino Maganto, General Manager of IKEA Morocco, Kuwait, and Jordan, and CEO of SYH Morocco. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Mr. Mohammed Mhidia, Wali of the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima Region, Mr. Fouad Brini, Chairman of Tanger Med Group,Mr. Omar Moro, President of the Regional Council, as well as business partners, local authorities, and other stakeholders.

With a total surface area of over 18,000 m2, including over 16,400 m2 of retail space, the new IKEA Cabo offers access to a world of inspiration, ideas, and affordable furnishing solutions for all. It features a 3,550 m2 showroom, a 4,184 m2 Market Hall and Morocco’s first IKEA restaurant with terrace, seating up to 230 people. With the emphasis on natural lighting in the store, IKEA Cabo also offers an outdoor space that is unique in the IKEA world, both internationally and in Morocco. The 500 m2 glass roof houses the company’s range of outdoor furniture.

Requiring an investment of 400 million MAD,the IKEA Cabo store has created 500 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs. The brand has invested heavily in developing local skills, with 90% of employees coming from the region.
