CP – TANGER MED – TANGER MED PORT ACTIVITY REPORT 1st QUARTER 2018

The various traffic indicators of Tanger Med port are in clear progression for most of the port activities in spite of bad weather conditions.

INCREASE IN CONTAINER TRAFFIC
The number of containers handled on the TC1 and TC2 container terminals for the first quarter of 2018 is 788,774 TEUs. This figure is in increase of +3% compared to the same period of 2017.

INCREASING TRUCK TRAFFIC
Truck traffic registered an increase of +12% in the first quarter of 2018 with 90,008 units processed
DECREASE IN PASSENGERS TRAFFIC
A total of 373 343 passengers passed through the port in the first quarter of 2018, down 12% compared to the same period of 2017.

INCREASING VEHICLES TRAFIC
110 756 vehicles were handled at both vehicle terminals during the first quarter of 2018, being in increase of +24%.

90 179 vehicles were handled at the Renault terminal, including 71 823 vehicles for export coming from the Renault Tanger Med factory.

The transhipment of vehicles handled in the Common User Vehicles terminal recorded a total of 19,905

SLIGHT DROP IN HYDROCARBONS TRAFFIC
The hydrocarbon traffic in the port Tanger Med has seen this first quarter of 2018 a slight decrease of around 5% compared to the same period of 2017. It recorded a total of 1 446 332 tonnes of hydrocarbons treated.
