• 35 new industrial projects in the activity zones of Tanger Med

• 4 new industrial extensions in 2022

• 14 new operators in the Logistical Zone in 2022

• 2.2 billion MAD of new investments generating 5000 new jobs.

• 133 billion MAD of business volume generated by Tanger Med activity zones.

PERFORMANCE IN ACTIVE SECTORS

The Business volume coming from Tanger Med activity zones reached 133 billion MAD in 2022, up 45% compared to 2021.

The corresponding sectoral performances are :
-95 billion MAD for the automotive sector, an increase of 53% compared to 2021
– 11 billion MAD for other industrial sectors, including textiles and aeronautics, up 10% from 2021.
-27 billion MAD for the logistics sector, up 29% compared to 2021.

This significant increase in the automotive sector is due to the launch of new projects in the «Tanger Automotive City » zone.

Tanger Med Industrial Platform also recorded a significant 16% increase in the created logistics flows (including trucks and containers).

These flows amount to 481,687 units in 2022 (compared with 413,905 units in 2021) across all the activity zones of Tanger Med Industrial Platform.

NEW PRIVATE INVESTMENTS

Tanger Med Industrial Platform closed out 2022 with 35 new industrial projects, representing private investments of 2.2 billion MAD and 5000 new jobs.

These new projects include the Turkish automotive supplier Martur Fompak International, specializing in the production of interior equipment and automotive seats, the German Group Stahlschmidt International Holding GmbH (SCS), specializing in components and assemblies for mechanical release systems, International Paper (IP), a leading manufacturer of renewable fiber-based packaging and absorbent pulp solutions, TEXMANIA, dedicated to the manufacture of finished products for the ready-to-wear industry for export, and MAITRE CONSERVATEUR CUMAREX, providing food solutions to the national and international market, and INDUS TECHNOLOGIES with a manufacturing unit for identification products for digitization and automation in the following sectors: automotive, aviation, chemical, food, health, horticulture, leisure, metals, oil and gas, etc.

Alongside this, four businesses operating within the industrial platform have launched projects to expand their activities in 2022, including TE Connectivity, a leader in the field of industrial technology, with the creation of a new plant in Tanger Automotive City, the Turkish company MARTUR FOMPAK with a production unit for automotive seat components, and Emirates Automotive Logistics, a subsidiary of the Emirati Sharaf Group, with a new logistics center dedicated to automotive logistics.

On the logistics side, 14 new operators have launched their operations in Tanger Med Logistical Zone, including logisticians such as ARAMEX with its distribution hub to Africa, the transportation and logistics company LOGIC OVERSEAS and multinationals such as APTIV, the automotive supplier and one of the world leaders as well as SEBN MAF of the SEBN factories and a subsidiary of the SUMITOMO group.
