Under the auspices of the Royal Moroccan Sailing Federation, Dalia Nautical Sports Association, supported by Tanger Med Foundation, organized the 4th edition of the “Dalia Opti Cup 2025” international regatta from July 7 to 10, 2025. Listed on the international calendar, the event brought together athletes from 14 countries (Morocco, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Senegal, South Africa, Tajikistan, Oman, Tunisia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain) and involved several Moroccan clubs, including Dalia, Tangier, Agadir, Mohammedia, M’diq, and the Royal Navy of Casablanca.

The awards ceremony was attended by local authorities, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Arab Sailing Union, Mr. Ahmed Bennani, President of FRMV, Mr. Anouar El Jabbari, Managing Director of Tanger Med Foundation, Mr. Hassan Baraka, extreme athlete, coach, and speaker, and Mr. Rachid Derdabi, President of the Al Awael Association.

A total of 26 races took place across all categories in favorable weather conditions. The overall rankings were as follows:

  • Athlete Adil Khalid from the United Arab Emirates took first place in the ILCA 6 General category, Dawood Abdellah from Bahrain was second, and Al Moatasem Al Farsi from Oman was third in the same category.
  • In the ILCA 4 General category, Mohamed Dadach from Mdiq was ranked first, Mohamed Alowais from the United Arab Emirates was second, and Guillermo Bravo from Laguna, Spain, was third in the same category.
  • In the mixed general Optimist series, athlete Yassine El Ouafi from Dalia was awarded first place, Lucien de Cockborne from France was second, and Adrien Cuinet from France was third in the same category.

True to its social mission, the 2025 event welcomed children with special needs from the Al Awael Association for a special visit. Supervised by qualified instructors, they took part in dedicated sea trips, which were a memorable sporting and inclusive experience.

Launched in 2022 by Tanger Med Group, Dalia Sailing School has continued its mission to make water sports accessible to children in Fahs Anjra, particularly in rural areas. Four years later, its athletes have reached national and international levels, and some have been selected as part of the Moroccan national team for the 2026 Optimist World Championship to be held in Tangier. This 4th edition has therefore confirmed the sporting, educational, and social momentum driven by Dalia and its partners.
