Morocco hosted a high-level retreat in Rabat on September 11th dedicated to the future of Euro Mediterranean relations, bringing together key players from the region for a strategic and future-focused exchange.

Under the aegis of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, the meeting was organized by Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, alongside Ms. Dubravka Suica, European Commissioner for the Mediterranean, with the participation of Nasser Kamal, Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean. The event brought together senior government officials, international financial institutions, representatives of the private sector, as well as experts and think tanks from both sides of the Atlantic.

At the heart of the discussions, Mr. Mehdi Tazi Riffi, CEO of Tanger Med Group, spoke during a panel on the theme “Promoting industrial, commercial, and investment/entrepreneurship partnerships,” highlighting the levers of competitiveness, industrial upgrading, and investment corridors in support of sustainable regional integration.

This retreat made it possible to identify common areas for action, align priorities between public decision makers and economic operators, and outline a shared roadmap for strengthening Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in industry, trade, investment, and innovation.
