On Friday, March 7, MIGA and the World Bank presented the 10th annual “Gender Leadership Award” to Ms. Loubna Ghaleb, Tanger Med Group Board member, on International Women’s Day.

Created in 2016, the “MIGA Gender Leadership Award” recognizes top female executives for their commitment to gender equality within companies.

During the event, Ms. Loubna Ghaleb was recognized for her leadership and impact in developing an inclusive and sustainable work environment. This distinction also reflects the collective efforts and determination of Tanger Med’s teams to promote the role of women in the port and maritime sector.

Trained as an engineer, Ms. Ghaleb began her career at Tanger Med in 2005 after a brief stint at the Ministry of Public Works. She has played a key role in the development of the port complex, now the leading container port in Africa and the Mediterranean.

Successively holding strategic positions — from Head of Concessions and Partnerships to Director of Strategy and Development — she has been a member of the Group’s Management Board since 2020. Her expertise has been decisive in a number of projects, including the concessioning of port terminals with major players such as APM Terminals & Maersk, CMA CGM, and Hapag Lloyd, as well as the establishment of the Renault plant in Tangier. She also orchestrated major financial and strategic operations, including the takeover of Marsa Maroc.
