BUSINESS VOLUME OF SECTORS OPERATING AT TANGER MED

In 2024, the business volume generated by Tanger Med’s Business Park reached 174 billion MAD, representing a significant increase of 12.3% over the previous year. This growth was reflected in various sectors:

  • 117 billion MAD for the automotive sector, an increase of 10.38% compared with 2023
  • 10 billion MAD for other industrial sectors, including textiles and aeronautics, down 11.11% from 2023.
  • 46 billion MAD for the logistics sector, an increase of 15% compared with 2023

Tanger Med Business Park includes the zones managed by Tanger Med Zones, a subsidiary of Tanger Med Group, and the new Mohammed VI Tanger Tech City, managed by SATT, a partnership between Bank of Africa (BMCE), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma Regional Council, Tanger Med Group, and the Chinese company CCCC-CRBC.

So far, these zones have been developed over a footprint of 3,000 HA, hosting more than 1,400 companies and creating almost 130,000 jobs in over 10 sectors: automotive, aeronautics, textiles, healthcare, agri-food, electronics, renewable energies, packaging, services, and logistics.

MOHAMMED VI TANGER TECH CITY

As for the “Tanger Tech” zone, which has so far been developed over an area of 87 HA, 4 new players have confirmed that they will be setting up in 2024, for an investment of 6.43 billion MAD and creating 2,795 new jobs, including the Chinese BTR New Material Group, which specializes in the production of materials for lithium-ion batteries, and holds the exclusive title of simultaneous world leader in the production of anodes and cathodes.
