AEZO PARTICIPATES IN THE ANNUAL GASEZ CONFERENCE IN CHINA

The Africa Economic Zones Organization (AEZO) participated in the annual GASEZ conference, which took place from September 8-11, 2024 in China, on the sidelines of the China International Investment and Trade Fair (CIFIT), this event brought together key players in sustainable development within Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

The 3rd GASEZ Annual Conference took place in Xiamen and was co-organized by the Global Partnership of Industrial Parks of China (GPIPC) and UN Trade and Development. This event enabled GASEZ’s founding members to share the alliance’s progress, notably through the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Model Areas Partnership Initiative. SEZ leaders, practitioners and experts from around the world exchanged views on crucial topics, such as priority concerns and opportunities for areas in the current global context. They also discussed topics such as promoting green trade and investment, establishing links between SEZs and the local economy, and international standards for sustainability.

AEZO’s participation in this event highlights its commitment to sustainable development and its active role in promoting responsible practices in special economic zones.
